Telephony and Unified Communications
Currently the multiservice operators' networks, that offer quality of service (QoS), are allowing the proliferation of the use of services of Voice over IP and Telephony over IP.
The Voice over IP allows using links of data to broadcast initiated voice conversations in traditional voice terminals, ACTel recommends the use of hybrid PBX, or ToIP platforms that allow the use of traditional terminals and voice lines, for this end.
The IP Telephony requires specific infrastructure and terminals, they can be phones, software installed in a computer or the combination of both, allows a great use of the multiservice and new terminal network equipments as the phone software (Softphone). A clear example of this technology is Skype. But the connection to the network of voice operator, if does not offer SIP trunks, still needs of lines and traditional voice equipments.
Unified Communications allow data and video conference services, also a greater integration of telephony and video with other ICT productivity applications: e-mail, instant messaging, CRM and others.
